What goes into a SKYO lift
A traction lift balances the car against a counterweight, so the motor only lifts the difference. Click a part to find it in the drawing.

Lifts need regular service to stay reliable and legal. Our annual maintenance contracts cover SKYO lifts and lifts from other makers.
Standard safety features
Automatic rescue device (ARD)
During a power cut, the ARD runs the car to the nearest floor on battery and opens the doors, so nobody is trapped.
Infrared door curtain
A screen of infrared beams across the door opening re-opens the doors if a person or object is in the way.
Overspeed governor & safety gear
If the car moves faster than its rated speed, the governor trips the safety gear, which grips the guide rails and stops the car.
Overload sensor
The car stays at the floor with a buzzer and light until the load is back within the rated limit.
Intercom, alarm & emergency light
Passengers can talk to the security desk and stay in light until help arrives.
Fire-service mode
On a fire alarm signal, the lift returns to the ground floor, opens and stays out of normal service.
